California IN BRIEF : Riverside : Group Alleges CSU Trustees Broke Law

California State University trustees allegedly violated a state law by voting to give top administrators pay raises at a closed-door session, a press advocacy group charged here. The California First Amendment Coalition has asked the university system to invalidate pay raises that it voted Nov. 1 for Chancellor W. Ann Reynolds aned campus presidents. A university spokesman denied that the action was taken in closed session and said the trustees acted properly. Reynolds salary was increased by 43% to $195,000 a year, while campus presidents were boosted from $112,000 to $130,000.
