Indonesia Death Toll 177 in Floods, Slides
JAKARTA, Indonesia —
The death count from floods and landslides in Central Java reached 177 today, and a government official blamed poor building practices and an inadequate warning system for the high toll.
The toll grew as rescue officials recovered more bodies from mud and debris in Semarang, about 250 miles east of Jakarta.
