LAS VEGAS — Striking hotel workers briefly closed the main street downtown Monday night in a noisy sit-in that ended with the arrests of 74 demonstrators, police said.
The strikers linked arms and sat in a circle in the middle of “Glitter Gulch” on Fremont Street near Binion’s Horseshoe Club, where Culinary Union workers have struck in a contract dispute.
About 30 police officers arrested the strikers after they refused to disband. There was no violence.
