Solti Plans Soviet, East Europe Tour: Sir Georg Solti said Wednesday he wants to take the Chicago Symphony Orchestra to the Soviet Union and his native Hungary in his last year as music director, the orchestra’s 100th season. “We have an almost messianic message for Russia--we want you to be part of Europe. I feverishly believe we’ve got to do it,” the 78-year-old conductor said. An appearance in his native Budapest, if it too can be arranged, would be a “wonderful end,” he said.
