The Last Picture Show?: Puzzled moviegoers who found the historic Mann’s Studio Theater in Studio City dark all last week will be able to see “My Left Foot” as scheduled beginning Friday. A Mann’s spokesperson would not confirm rumors that the unannounced closing was due to a dispute over rent increases, saying only that the company was “doing renovations.” But John Miller, vice president of the Los Angeles Historic Theater Foundation, is skeptical. “The most common sign you see when a theater is being closed is a sign that says ‘We’re remodeling.’ It’s used to throw people off the scent.” The 1935 Studio is one the last single screen theaters in the San Fernando Valley.
