Park Changes to be Discussed at Meetings

The Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy has announced a series of public meetings to discuss additions and improvements to parks and trails in the Rim of the Valley Corridor.

The Mountains Conservancy is a state agency that acquires parkland in the Santa Monica Mountains and other hills and mountains that ring the San Fernando and Crescenta valleys.

Citizens are invited to the public meetings to recommend additions to the network of trails and parks being established in the Santa Monica, Verdugo and Santa Susana mountains and the Simi Hills.

On Tuesday, the meeting for the Thousand Oaks-Simi Valley-Moorpark area will be held at 7 p.m. at the East Valley sheriff’s station community room, 2101 East Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks.

On Thursday, the Granada Hills-Mission Hills-Northridge-Chatsworth-Sylmar area meeting will be at 3 p.m. at the Granada Hills branch library, Chatsworth Street and Petit Avenue, Granada Hills.

On Monday, Feb. 26, the Santa Clarita-Granada Hills area meeting will be held at the Towsley Canyon Park Visitor Center, 24255 The Old Road, near the Calgrove exit of Interstate 5 in the Santa Clarita Valley.
