Disturbance Erupts in Chula Vista Jail
A disturbance was reported at the San Diego County Jail in Chula Vista about 9 p.m. Sunday. Four patients were taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital in Chula Vista with minor injuries, said paramedic spokesman Tim Robinson of Hartson Medical Services.
Details from the Sheriff’s Department were sketchy, but a sheriff’s spokesman said the disturbance occurred in Module 4B. The module was locked down, and inmates were confined to their cells by 9:23 p.m.
A laundry-room fire was also reported Sunday at the County Jail in El Cajon. The fire was extinguished, and no injuries were reported.
