United Telecommunications Inc.: The Kansas City, Mo., parent of US Sprint said 1989 net income fell 29% to $363 million. Revenue rose 16% to $7.549 billion. Net income for 1988 included an after-tax gain of $367 million from discontinued operations resulting primarily from the sale of the company’s cellular and paging operations. Therefore, 1989 income from continuing operations increased 156% over a year ago.
