LOCAL : Suspect Sought in Stab Attack

A police search is under way for a man who stabbed a 19-year-old woman in the carport of her Huntington Beach apartment complex and fled on foot with her purse.

The woman, whose name was withheld by police, suffered a minor wound to her right shoulder. She told police the man confronted her Tuesday morning as she was getting into her car at her home in the 16000 block of Sher Lane. In the struggle, the man knocked her to the ground and stabbed her with a pointed object. Police concluded the weapon was not a knife.

The suspect is described as a male in his late 20s or early 30s, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 175 pounds, with brown neck-length hair, a mustache and a small tattoo on his right forearm. He was seen driving a late ‘70s model, turquoise Ford LTD with out-of-state, yellow and black license plates, police said.
