Archer to Get a Tryout With 49ers

David Archer, the Chargers’ third-string quarterback last season but left unprotected under Plan B free-agency, will receive a tryout from the San Francisco 49ers, his agent said Wednesday.

Steve Feldman said the Chargers have an interest in another of his clients left unprotected--Undra Johnson, a rookie running back with Atlanta. Johnson, 5-feet-9, 199 pounds, was a seventh-round draft choice from West Virginia.

The Chargers also have an interest in Denver linebacker Bruce Klosterman, said his agent, Jack Wirth. Klosterman, an eighth-round selection in 1986, has spent his career as a Bronco backup.
