S&P; Lower Sears Bond Rating: Standard & Poor’s lowered its rating on Sears, Roebuck & Co.’s long-term bonds and commercial paper, citing the weak performance of the company’s ability to repay its debts. S&P; downgraded Sears’ senior long-term debt rating by one notch to A-plus from AA-minus, and lowred its commercial-paper rating one notch to A-1 from A-1 plus.
