L.A. Harbor Pilots Expected to Strike Today; Safety Issue Cited
The Los Angeles Harbor pilots, whose job it is to steer huge cargo ships in and out of the Port of Los Angeles, have announced that they are going on strike early today over what they say are unsafe working conditions at the port.

Knox said the strike was called after a vote late Friday and was scheduled to begin at 4:30 a.m.
