Keith Starr, a Cal State Fullerton assistant basketball coach, has resigned effective immediately, the school announced Friday.

Starr, 35, had been a part-time assistant at Nevada Las Vegas for four years and had lived in Las Vegas for 12 years before being named at Fullerton in July.

Sources at Fullerton said Starr missed Las Vegas and has returned there to look for a job, possibly outside of coaching.

Starr could not be reached for comment Friday.

Fullerton will make changes in its starting lineup against Pacific tonight in an attempt to inject more offense, Coach John Sneed said.

Agee Ward, who started at forward early in the season, will replace Van Anderson, Sneed said. Anderson will back up Cedric Ceballos, Sneed said, in a move designed to provide Ceballos with some rest during games. Ceballos played every minute of two overtime games last week.
