Only one of four vehicles in the latest round of government crash tests scored low enough to indicate a likely danger of head injury to the driver in a 35-m.p.h. crash, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said today.

The Toyota 4-Runner four-door truck ranked worst among seven 1990 models so far tested in the frontal-crash tests. The Acura Integra four-door sedan ranked as least likely to cause injury to the driver.

Other vehicles tested in the latest round were the Mazda Miata, Nissan Stanza and Lexus ES250. The Acura and Mitsubishi Eclipse were tested earlier.

Some auto manufacturers have criticized the government testing, which uses instrument-equipped dummies, contending that it does not accurately test real highway crash conditions.
