WORLD IN BRIEF : CAMBODIA : Big Powers Attempt to Define U.N. Role

The five permanent members of the Security Council met in an attempt to define a U.N. role in Cambodia, including implementing a military settlement and paving the way for free elections. The meeting was a follow-up to one in Paris last month at which the United States, the Soviet Union, France, Britain and China agreed on outlines of a peace plan.
