“Mission Impossible” has been scrubbed and will be replaced on the ABC schedule by “H.E.L.P.,” the network announced today.

“Mission Impossible” will go on what ABC calls “telecast hiatus” giving its last performance Feb. 24.

“H.E.L.P.” stands for Harlem Eastside Lifesaving Program and the show follows the adventures of a special New York City emergency unit composed of firefighters, police and paramedics.

It stars John Mahoney, whom movie fans may remember best for his restaurant scene with Olympia Dukakis in “Moonstruck.” His most recent film is “Russia House,” starring Sean Connery and Michelle Pfeiffer.

New York City Mayor David N. Dinkins will make a cameo appearance in the series--as himself.
