TV comings and goings:

NO MORE DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE: CBS will place its irreverent comedy “Doctor, Doctor” on hiatus beginning March 15 and will fill its 10:30 p.m. Monday time slot with “His&Hers;,” a comedy about two marriage counselors who are married to each other.

The network said that it expects to bring back “Doctor, Doctor,” which stars the former “Max Headroom,” Matt Frewer, later in the year--perhaps as part of a comedy block on another night.

“Doctor, Doctor” is the second Monday night comedy to be placed on indefinite leave by CBS Entertainment President Jeff Sagansky, who took over that position Jan. 1. Hugh Wilson’s “The Famous Teddy Z,” which occupied the 8:30 p.m. Monday time slot, went off the air for creative re-vamping in mid-January. The network said it would bring back remaining episodes of “Teddy Z” in April; if the ratings don’t improve, executive producer Wilson said, the show would be permanently axed.

“His&Hers;,” which stars Stephanie Faracy and Martin Mull, has a 13-episode order from the network. It is produced by “Family Ties” creator Gary David Goldberg.

IMPOSSIBLE INDEED: “Mission: Impossible” will go off the air indefinitely after its Feb. 24 episode, ABC said Wednesday. It will be replaced in the 8 p.m. Saturday time slot by “H.E.L.P.,” an ensemble drama about an emergency crew of New York firefighters, police officers and paramedics.

“H.E.L.P.,” which premieres March 3, stars John Mahoney (“Moonstruck”) as Battalion Chief Patrick Meacham, and Tom Breznahan, the real-life son of a New York City firefighter, as a young member of the team.

DAYTIME: ABC will revive “The Match Game.” Bert Convy will host the program, which last ran on CBS from 1973 to 1979. It will join ABC’s daytime lineup July 16, replacing re-runs of “Perfect Strangers.”

NEXT SEASON: Aaron Spelling, the producer whose light-as-air programs once dominated the ABC schedule, will be back next fall with an as-yet-untitled series starring Victoria Principal (whose “Dallas” character, Pam Ewing, fled Dallas under a shroud of bandages after a fiery car wreck). She’ll play an investigator for the Los Angeles district attorney’s office.
