A roster of Pasadena Advocates’ board of directors reads like a sampling from a city Who’s Who--movers and shakers, past and present. The group’s directors are:

Bruce Ackerman--Executive vice president of the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce and a Pasadena Now member.

Delmer Beckhart--Architect; president of the Eagle Rock architectural firm of Peterson, Beckhart, Wesley & Stice; past president of the chamber; a Tournament of Roses Assn. member, and a founding Pasadena Now member.

James Boyle--Past president of the Tournament of Roses Assn. and a former Pasadena Now member.

Harold Britton--Landscape contractor and board chairman of the Lower Hastings Ranch Assn.

Guillermina Byrne--Senior research attorney with the California Court of Appeal, Growth Management Task Force member and past City Planning Commission chairwoman.

Larry Collins--Past publisher of the Pasadena Star-News, the city’s daily newspaper, and a Pasadena Now member.

Harriman Cronk--Stockbroker, past economic development director for the chamber, former Tournament of Roses Assn. president and a founding Pasadena Now member.

Rob Fisher--Insurance representative and past president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce.

Armando Gonzalez--Architect and former chairman of the Community Development Committee.

Jo Heckman--Real estate agent and a past 12-year member of the city’s Board of Directors who was defeated in 1987 by City Director William Paparian.

John Kennedy--President of the Pasadena chapter of the NAACP and past member of the Northwest Task Force.

Jim Lee--Stockbroker, past chamber president and Pasadena Now founding member.

Besse Licher--Past member of the City Infrastructure Committee, unsuccessful city Board of Directors candidate in the 1960s and owner of Licher Direct Mail, a printing and mailing service that serves many of Pasadena’s political candidates and groups.

Floyd Loupot--Owner of Miracle Ear hearing aid center, Chamber of Commerce member and president of the Better Hearing Institute.

Larry Mielke--Pasadena Now co-founder, president of Gemtel Corp. and a partner in Huntington Hotel Associates, the group reconstructing Pasadena’s Huntington Hotel.

Margaret Sedenquist--Member of the board of directors of Pasadena Playhouse State Theatre of California Inc. and a commercial realtor whose unsuccessful race in 1985 against Director Jess Hughston set a record for the most money ever spent in a city campaign, $85,000.
