Asner Arrested in Protest: Activist actor Ed Asner spent two hours in custody after his arrest with 26 others during a Valentine’s Day demonstration at the Concord Naval Weapons Station in Martinez. All were released Wednesday after they were fingerprinted and booked for investigation of trespassing at the Contra Costa County Jail. The protest was organized by a group of Jesuit priests and religious students from Berkeley, objecting to the alleged shipment of weapons from the station to El Salvador.
