2nd Toxic Leak in 2 Weeks Makes 15,000 Stay Indoors

INSTITUTE, W. Va. —
The second toxic chemical leak in two weeks at a plant considered among the most modern in the nation forced authorities to order 15,000 residents to remain indoors. About 500 gallons of muriatic acid leaked Thursday from a transfer hose at Rhone-Poulenc’s Institute plant. No injuries were reported.
