Carson IRS Office Offers Walk-In Help on Tax Returns, Publications
Taxpayers in Long Beach, Carson and the South Bay area can receive walk-in assistance on their tax returns. Walk-in service at the Carson office of the Internal Revenue Service includes forms, publications, account information and information about Volunteer Income Tax Assistance or Tax Counseling for the Elderly sites. VITA and TCE volunteers will be available throughout the area to answer questions and to prepare returns for low-income, elderly, handicapped and non-English-speaking individuals.
In addition to the sites, tax assistance is available by calling toll-free telephone numbers. For tax questions, locations of local assistance and information on electronic filing, call (800) 424-1040; for forms or publications, call (800) 424-3676. There is also a tax information hot line that supplies recorded information on office hours, seminars and updates on new rulings, 603-2555.
The IRS office is at 16941 S. Keegan Ave., Carson, and is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
