WASHINGTON — A House panel voted today to subpoena the suspended executive director of the Passaic, N.J., Public Housing Authority, who has been accused of collecting multiple salaries from the agency totaling more than $245,000 in one year.
The House subcommittee investigating problems at the Department of Housing and Urban Development voted unanimously to subpoena Paul A. Marguglio, who was suspended from his job after an audit by the HUD inspector general.
The panel also voted to subpoena Marguglio’s wife, Louise, and the authority’s suspended deputy executive director, Donald V. Pieri. Both were accused by auditors of receiving excessive pay.
Rep. Tom Lantos (D-San Mateo), chairman of the Government Operations subcommittee on employment and housing, said none of the three had responded to requests to appear before the panel voluntarily.
