BACK IN THE SKY: Orange County’s self-effacing developer, philanthropist, vintage car collector and former airline owner, William Lyon, is back in the cockpit of an aviation firm. . . . Lyon, 66, a partner in a deal to buy Martin Aviation (D5), is a retired Air Force brigadier general who has kept up a love affair with flying since he was a teen-ager in West Los Angeles. After selling AirCal in 1986 for a cool $15-million profit, the Coto de Caza resident continued to fly his Falcon 50 jet, which is kept at John Wayne Airport.
