SOUTHLAND : Pasadena Losing Trauma Center

The only remaining trauma center in the San Gabriel Valley is pulling out of the county network May 1 due to millions of dollars in annual losses, hospital officials announced this morning.
The board of directors of Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena said annual losses from the trauma center hit $3.7 million in 1989, a significant increase over previous years. The hospital becomes the 11th facility of an original 23 to withdraw from the network.
