In nonconference volleyball:

UC Irvine 3, UC San Diego 2--Steve Florentine had 19 kills and David Pettko had 17 to lead visiting UCI (3-8) to a 10-15, 13-15, 15-2, 17-15, 15-13 victory. Bryan Palmer of UC San Diego (0-11) had 25 kills.

In nonconference softball:

Southern California College 7-7, Claremont Scripps 2-4--Tori Serapion (6-2) allowed six hits in each game as SCC (8-4) swept a double-header at Claremont.
