Beverly Hills : Traffic Program Planned

Share

A plan to reduce traffic on residential streets while increasing the capacity of major thoroughfares will begin in the southwest quadrant of the city, officials said.

Under the program known as the Livable Streets Project, the area south of Wilshire Boulevard and west of Beverly Drive will be affected. The intersection of Beverly Drive and Olympic Boulevard has been identified as a top priority for improvements to expedite traffic flow.

Although the plan is at a preliminary stage, it could include the creation of cul-de-sacs and other measures designed to discourage non-residents from using the area’s side streets, a report to the City Council said.
