LAGUNA BEACH : Patriots Day Parade to Honor Songwriter

More than 100 entries are expected for the 24th annual Patriots Day Parade on Saturday at 11 a.m.

The year’s theme is “God Bless America,” a tribute to patriotic songwriter Irving Berlin. The grand marshal will be Laguna Beach businessman Roy Marcum Jr.

The procession will form on Park Avenue and proceed to Forest Avenue, past the reviewing stand at City Hall.

After the parade, awards ceremonies are scheduled at the Irvine Bowl on the Festival of the Arts grounds. Those to be honored include Grant W. McCombs as patriot of the year; Fritz Toohey as citizen of the year; and Jennifer Dawn Brennan and Eric Marshall Sands as junior citizens.
