As you watch the wild boys evolve from pouting, preening fashion plates to globe-trotting adventurers slogging through jungle and desert, you can almost work up a little tolerance and even affection for these superstar buffoons. In the course of this compilation of 10 of the videogenic dandies’ clips, little shots of self-effacing humor puncture their self-importance, and the over-the-top excesses of the “Dune”-meets-”Blade-Runner” productions is head-shakingly enjoyable. Not quite enjoyable enough, though, to compensate for the smarminess of the early landmark “Girls on Film,” which is presented here with the naughty bits intact. The band has the models rolling in the mud, but there’s no question who really comes out of it soiled.
