An undercover prostitution sting operation resulted in the arrests of 32 people in a Sepulveda neighborhood known for prostitution activity, Los Angeles police said.
Four female officers dressed in jeans and sweat shirts were used to attract potential customers in the task force operation that started about 6:30 p.m. Friday and ended about 2 a.m. Saturday, Sgt. Tom Wade said. Uniformed officers assisted in making the arrests, he said.
One man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly tried to run down an officer with his car as she tried to arrest him, Wade said. Most of the other suspects, who face charges of soliciting prostitution, were released on their own recognizance, but one suspected prostitute remained in custody because she was wanted on suspicion of robbery, he said.
Two men were arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure, he said.
The operation was conducted along Sepulveda Boulevard near Roscoe Boulevard, Wade said.
