Councilman Cannot Bring Suit: A Superior Court judge ruled that Los Angeles City Councilman Marvin Braude has no right to bring a lawsuit seeking to block construction of the Watt City Center, a two-tower office complex planned for downtown. Judge David Yaffe said Braude’s position as a councilman precludes him from being able to sue the city as a private citizen. Braude’s attorney, George Dale, indicated that the councilman is likely to appeal the decision.
