Homeless in Santa Monica

Share

So, Los Angeles government individuals (of course not officially) have suggested turning a water hose on a homeless woman who has temporarily settled near the home of Elaine K. Sewell Jones (Opinion, Feb. 18). Well, this is America, and we don’t turn water hoses on people.

I am tired of reading about junk bonds, junkies and homeless people who have been junked from our society. I don’t want children, women and men to be forced to live on the streets. I don’t want there to be 40% unemployment in our inner cities.

In a city in Russia (noted in the same section) the entire government was overthrown when an official’s car trunk popped open and revealed delicacies long absent from the local grocery stores. Is that the problem in America? Too many delicacies for the people in power?

This junking of America has been around a long time. Elected officials obviously have not been able to cope. This is a time of worldwide reassessment and revolution. I think we better junk our elected officials and elect those who can.
