Writers Guild OKs 3-Year Contract With CBS TV, Radio

NEW YORK — Members of the Writers Guild of America overwhelmingly approved an agreement with CBS for a new three-year contract that provides wage increases and other benefits, it was announced today.
Mona Mangan, executive director of the Writers Guild, East, said the approval, which came in voting in Los Angeles and New York on Monday, was “most gratifying.”
She said the vote was 87.2% in favor of a contract covering 325 CBS television and radio employees on both coasts that is retroactive to last Friday. The agreement provides for an immediate wage increase of 5% and another for the same amount Sept. 1, 1991.
