GARDEN GROVE : Council Tentatively OKs DARE Funds
The City Council has tentatively approved the appropriation of $22,000 for expansion of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program in city schools.
The Garden Grove Unified School District will pay for 80% of the cost of DARE. Under the program, two police officers employed by the city will work with high school and junior high students to try to dissuade them from drugs and gangs.
