Eastern’s Sale of Latin Routes OKd: The Justice Department said it has no objections to Eastern Airlines’ proposed sale of its prized Latin American routes to rival American Airlines. The proposed $471-million transaction still must be approved by the Transportation Department and the federal bankruptcy court in New York overseeing the reorganization of Miami-based Eastern. Completion of the route sale is a necessary condition for final approval of a reorganization agreement between Eastern and its unsecured creditors.
