Toxic Fumes Send 30 to Hospitals
About 30 employees of an electronics firm on Pasadena Avenue in South Pasadena were treated for dizziness and nausea at six hospitals Wednesday after inhaling fumes from an overheated can of the adhesive material epoxy. All 200 employees of Malco A. Microdot Co. were evacuated after fumes began escaping from an oven in the assembly work area. A nearby office complex and the Los Ninos Pre-School also were temporarily evacuated, and four blocks were cordoned off as a precaution.
