LOCAL : O.C. Woman Held in Traffic Death
A 34-year-old Anaheim woman was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving Wednesday night after her car slammed into a father and daughter crossing a Stanton street, killing the man, sheriff’s officials said.
Nasario Romero Miranda, 57, of Stanton was pronounced dead at Midwood Hospital in Stanton. His daughter, Gloria Maria Romero, 24, also received several injuries, but a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said she is in fair condition at Humana West Hospital in Anaheim.
Penney Patricia Bustamantez, 34, was in custody today after being arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving. Bustamantez may face vehicular manslaughter charges, the spokesman said.
Sheriff’s Lt. Harold Schaffroth said the incident occurred at 5:01 p.m. when Miranda and his daughter were walking in the marked crosswalk across Dale Street at Chanticleer Road.
