Tony Tucker Continues Comeback Against Evans at Forum Tonight

Tony Tucker, the last man to defeat heavyweight champion Buster Douglas, continues his comeback tonight at the Forum in a 10-round bout against Mike Evans.

Tucker, 36-1 with 30 knockouts, is coming back after 2 1/2 years of inactivity because of substance abuse and other personal problems. Tucker, who stopped Douglas in 1987, gave former champion Mike Tyson his toughest fight before Tyson’s loss to Douglas.

Tucker, 6 feet 5 and 240 pounds, is 2-0 since returning to boxing four months ago. He had won the International Boxing Federation championship by beating Douglas in 1987. Later that year, he lost the title to Tyson on a 12-round decision.
