UCLA Women Get Past USC, 76-72

Rehema Stephens scored 24 points and Sandra Van Embricqs added 22 as UCLA beat USC, 76-72, Thursday night in a Pacific 10 Conference women’s basketball game at Pauley Pavilion.

With the victory, UCLA (17-11, 12-6 in the Pac-10) clinched third place in the conference and may have wrapped up a berth in the NCAA tournament. Pairings for the NCAA tournament will be announced Sunday.

Tammy Hammond scored 19 points for USC (8-19, 6-12), which lost both games with the Bruins for the first time since the 1984-85 season.
