‘Miss Saigon’ the Next Janet Jackson?: Lea Salonga, the 19-year-old Filipina star of the hit London musical “Miss Saigon,” has said she plans to leave the prestigious show for a career in pop music. “My role in ‘Miss Saigon’ is very, very taxing,” she said. “I want to go into pop . . . I would like to be just like Janet Jackson.” Salonga has been nominated for a Laurence Olivier stage award for her role as a prostitute in love with an American GI in Vietnam.
