Layoffs Expected at Georgia-Pacific: Georgia-Pacific said that it will reorganize its pulp and paper business along product lines in a move that will include some layoffs and that it expects to sell some assets this year. A spokesman said Georgia-Pacific has not determined how many people will lose their jobs. He said the reductions would be at both Georgia-Pacific and Great Northern Nekoosa Corp., which Georgia-Pacific acquired for almost $4 billion earlier this month. The restructuring is intended to help Georgia-Pacific improve profit as it tries to reduce debt from the takeover.
