Campeau Units Will Miss Deadline: Federated Department Stores Inc. and Allied Stores Corp. will not meet a bankruptcy court’s mid-May deadline for filing a reorganization plan and will ask for more time. “We will be seeking an extension of the exclusive period,” said David Heiman, an attorney representing the two firms. He was referring to a period granted under the Chapter 11 bankruptcy law during which the Campeau Corp. units have the exclusive right to plan their reorganization. The chains had been given 120 days after their Jan. 15 Chapter 11 filing to file their plan.
