Share

Today is the deadline for service organizations to apply for grants through the newly established Los Angeles Times Valley Edition Community Partnership Awards program.

Through the program, the Times will distribute up to $100,000 a year to nonprofit organizations in the San Fernando, Santa Clarita, Simi, Conejo and Antelope valleys, and in Ventura County.

The money will be distributed to groups that provide cultural, health, environmental and educational programs or services to the disadvantaged, senior citizens or youth, said Jeff Hall, president of the Times’ Valley Edition.

The awards will be based on innovation, creativity and responsiveness to community needs and problems.

Entries will be judged by a seven-member panel made up of representatives from the fields of education, business, civic and religious affairs. The awards will be presented at a Warner Center Marriott luncheon on April 26.
