El Monte Schools Pick Group for History Day

Agroup of El Monte Union High School District students will participate in the History Day Los Angeles competition Saturday at USC.

The theme is “Science and Technology in History.” Those selected for the Los Angeles competition from the 250 entrants in the district and their categories are:

Historical papers--Nathan Dalton, Jamie Bojorquez, Patrick Mundo and Ernie Ong.

Individual exhibits--Neomi Garcia, Jaime Moralejo, Shane Williams and Eun Hui Pyon. Group exhibits--Jonquil Bibee, Anita Chiu, Pat Kouch, Jeff Lu, Jennifer Wong, Diana Cheng, Chia-Min Lieu, Kim Luc, Bob Sun, Charles Tan, Peter Barrios, Steven Hoang, Paul Losino, Vera Chien, Jenny Ngo, Victoria Thai, Samantha Chong, Annie Lau, Jesse Ly and Tina Tat.

Outstanding craftsmanship--Pamela Adkins, Tino Doan, Vuthy Chung, Gina Diep, Chien Hwang, Linda Le and Charmaine Lim. Outstanding historical papers of merit--Linh Thieu Ly, Trinh Quach, Phan Le Tran and Tran Tieu.

First Edward Warner Memorial Award--Newell Allen Jr., Cesar Armendariz, Joanne Frisk, Andrew Garcia and Monica Perez.

High schools in the district are Arroyo, El Monte, Mountain View, Rosemead and Valle Lindo.
