REAL ESTATE : Irvine Council to Address National Issues on Housing for Senior Citizens

That the country is graying is no longer news. The U.S. Census Bureau tells us that 12% of the population will be 55 or more by the end of the decade.
That creates problems and opportunities in a variety of areas, and two Southern California building industry executives have responded with the creation in Irvine of the first chapter of what they hope will become a nationwide senior citizens housing council.
The Seniors Housing Council, organized by marketing consultants Carole Keller of Symark Inc. in Irvine and Barbara Krueger of Motivational Systems Inc. in San Diego, intends to address seniors’ issues in housing and other related areas such as long-term care facilities, Keller said.
The organization, sponsored by the Building Industry Assn. of Southern California, will have monthly breakfast meetings at the Radisson Hotel in Irvine. The next meeting is scheduled April 18.
“We want members who have an interest in promoting the causes of the older generation--home builders, educators, facilities designers, management professionals and suppliers,” Keller said.
