THIS WEEK
NOBEL SPEAKER: Linus Pauling, winner of the Nobel Prize in chemistry in 1954 and the Nobel Peace Prize in 1962, will speak at Cal State Long Beach School of Natural Sciences’ 15th annual Nobel Laureate Lecture Series from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the University Theatre.
SPECIAL OLYMPICS: The Southeast Los Angeles Chapter of California Special Olympics will host an area meet with more than 500 special athletes competing at Gahr High School in Cerritos from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
