About Helen Rowe

Share

Anthony Perry’s March 14 column asked “Who is Helen Rowe?” I know the answer to that question--Helen Rowe is my mother. She’s running for public office--for Lucy Killea’s former Assembly seat from the 78th District. Helen Rowe is a wife and mother, a business attorney, a law professor and a community activist. She’s lived in San Diego for 37 years. She’s the wonderful mother who helped us survive the terrible teens and the wonderful mother who helped both my brother and I survive cancer--she’s the mother who wouldn’t let us give up or stop fighting to get back our health.

She’s the one candidate who really cares about San Diego. She cares about people. She’s been honored by the YWCA, the Soroptimists, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the San Diego County Bar and the California Assembly for her volunteer service to our community.

Now let me tell you who Helen Rowe isn’t. My mother is not a political insider or a career politician. And she doesn’t want to be. When she’s elected, it won’t be “business as usual” in Sacramento!
