Driver Held in Shooting at Car During Dispute
A 21-year-old Sylmar man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of shooting at a car during a traffic dispute in Newhall, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
Victor Casillas allegedly fired a pistol shot into the fender of another auto, carrying three people, at San Fernando Road and 13th Street, said Sgt. Greg Sisneros.
The shooting occurred after the other driver gestured to protest Casillas’ cutting in front of him, Sisneros said.
No one was reported injured.
Casillas was being held in lieu of $17,000 bail on suspicion of shooting at an occupied vehicle, assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a contraband weapon, a pair of brass knuckles, authorities reported.
