Local News in Brief : 2 More Tour Dates Added at Rockwell Lab
Additional tour dates of April 7 and May 5 have been set for those who want to visit Rockwell International’s Santa Susana Field Laboratory west of Chatsworth, Rockwell’s Rocketdyne Division has announced.
The company said it has taken more than 250 people on bus tours of the field lab since February, and added the two tours for others interested.
People wishing to reserve one or two bus seats can call (818) 710-2380 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays. Seating for the two-hour, 45-minute tour is on a first-called, first-served basis.
The 2,668-acre field lab has been engulfed in controversy for nearly a year because of reports of mostly low-level chemical and radioactive pollution of soil and buildings.
