Fed Votes Steady Credit Policy: The Federal Reserve voted to hold interest rates steady at its meeting in February, saying inflation was under control, according to just-released minutes of the meeting. The February meeting occurred as concerns about inflation were heightening, mostly because of a surge in energy prices that has since abated. Consumer prices rose about 4.6% last year, compared to 4.4% in 1988.
