CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : SAN DIEGO : Congress to Study Border Violence

Expressing concern about alleged incidents of abuse along the U.S.-Mexico border, a congressional human rights panel will examine violence along the boundary in hearings set for April 18 in Washington. The session by the House foreign affairs subcommittee on human rights and international organizations is slated at a time when violence along the border is said to be on the rise, along with the number of illegal border crossings.
